Lindau 2010 - 3rd day

Of course, after the short sleep, comes the long face, so imagine that I did not hear the alarm clock (or I did not want to hear it) and I missed a couple of lectures. One thing I believe I haven't mentioned up to now is the weather in Lindau. Sun and hot is not descriptive enough, so let's face that it was extremely hot and humid, enough to be sweating all the time that I had to walk since I lost the bus. Today, my first session is already ruined, I rent a bike and the walking problem is solved... Why it didn't occur to me before?????? Thanks for the advice, Máire.

I missed Ciechanover, 't Hooft and Evans talks. Let's hope the coffee will help and let's go for the second round:

Oliver Smithies: 85 years old, still in the lab, and always a passionate of science and homemade engineering.

David Gross: Future of Physics and Supersymmetry.

Kurt Wüthrich: NMR as a real alternative to X-ray crystallography, and you can even get dynamics data!!

And I went for lunch to realize that there were interesting lectures after it. I missed them all. I took the advantage to walk around Lindau Insel and around lake Constanz. Besides, some nice girl from Barcelona (Rosa) ask for my advice and since this meeting is about networking, I thought that a brief time of mentoring was worth the while.
And then dinner came, and after that, Elegant dress code (look at myself in suit) and a nice concert in a really warm concert hall.

  1. Thanks for your mentoring Alex :-) and for the introduction to the misteries of the Cell.
